I made a cloth lunchbag and some little teabag holders

Here are some things I made last night along with some aprons I've made over the past week. I took the lunchbag pattern from a little brown bag my granddaughter had. I didn't realize it was so tiny. It's cute but I could hardly get my hand in it. In fact, after it was finished I wondered if I COULD get my hand in it. Well, only my 7 year old granddaughter needs to get her hand in it anyway. Okay, but she picked out the fabric - cupcakes is what she wanted. It has a stiff piece of felt at the bottom which I shoved in after it was all done. It was a little bit of work. I should have looked for a tutorial on this project but no, I just forged ahead since I was watching a movie, an old movie, Brubaker. It was based on a true story of this warden who tried to make changes to prison life. Robert Redford starred in it. Okay, some pictures here of what I've done. Any questions? Be glad to answer them.

This came out great! Wow. Surprise!

My mom had some moire fabric that I thought would make a pretty purse so I asked her if I could have it and she said, "Of course." I knew she'd say that. Anyway, I had an idea of how I wanted this purse to look and LO, and behold, it came out just like I pictured it to be. It SURPRISED the heck out me!

Small Jewelry Pouch

I bought this book the other day at Joann's for 50% off. I had a coupon. (Love those coupons)

I saw this really cute little jewelry pouch or change purse, whatever. So I decided to give it a try tonight. Michele, my niece, came over and finished her goose...forgot to take a picture of it but will post it soon.

This is how mine came out. Yucky. I thought if I post my successes, then I should post the flops also. It's too thick and I didn't gather the leaves when going around in a circle so the leaves flop forward instead of laying flat.

Oh, and if I fold one of the leaves back, it almost looks like Piglet, don't you think?

Pretty pouches - selvedge purse!

I've been bored now that all the work for the Victorian Boutique is done - all the aprons made for the Christmas show so I put together this selvedge purse which had been hanging around since last Fall. I also cut out some small pouches from fabric that I bought in PA - quilted fabric. Wow. These little puppies went together very quickly. Put the zipper in and zip up the 3 sides. Then I added a small handle. I made three of these in a short amount of time. Normally I would have to put batting and a lining but since it was already quilted, it went lickety split! Happy November, everyone. It even smells like November. Someone had a fire in their fireplace and it smelled so nice outside!

Fleece Pumpkins

Hey, ho,

Here are some fleece pumpkins I saw in the Family Fun Magazine. I bought 3 different colors of orange fleece and it was so EASY. Cut out a circle, sew a stitch around the edge of the circle and then pull the thread. Leave an opening to put in stuffing and then stitch closed. A stick becomes a pumpkin stem. Here's a picture of my Mom also.

Aprons, aprons, and more aprons

Okay, I've been sewing a lot and watching movies while I sew. I watched Titanic yesterday. That is one looooonnnngggg movie. After watching that movie, I feel like I've been in some kind of water disaster. Here are the aprons......

I had my daughter model the aprons and we took picture after picture. We were in a hurry to get out to Marshall's so she didn't tie the aprons in the back.... see the ties hanging down? Darn.

These black and red aprons are similar but the very last apron has pockets that are the entire black check part of the apron, in other words, the whole front of the apron is 2 huge pockets. The black check fabric is on top of the red polka dot fabric so it's a double layer apron. It took me a while to figure it out but I think it came out okay. My daughter loves this one. It's the one she wants for herself. I'll make her one after I get everything made for Jackie's shop. Take care, everyone.... Linda

Small log cabin pillows - in PINK

Here are some pictures of Carol's log cabin pillows. She's already made 60 potholders!! They are more like hotmats or placemats, they are so big and thick. One thing I have to say about you, Carol, is that when you get going on something you are FOCUSED! God bless, Linda.

Picture Quilt of Kasha

Here is a picture I took of Kasha. Then I manipulated it in Photoshop Elements. Wow. It was fun turning the picture into all different kinds of colors and weird effects. My son's friend, Tibo, changed the background to a sky background. Then I printed it out on Computer Printer Fabric and now I have to sew the strips around it and finish it but here it is so far -

Old quilt

Here is a quilt I made for my granddaughter 5 years ago. I wanted her to like her quilt - she's seven now. I think she liked it. It's started to shred. I'm really afraid it's going to disintegrate...the back has some holes in it, too. I think I'll bind it with some new fabric and then maybe make her another one from scratch that is similar, almost the same. I've already made her a fairy quilt and a mermaid quilt since that time but this is the only one she HAS to take to bed with her!

Best wishes, everyone.

Puppies

Here is my daughter, Kristy, with the dogs, Minnie and Kasha. Aren't they cute? Kristy is cute, too. ha ha Kris is wearing one of my new aprons.

(For those who don't know, my husband and I adopted two girls from Korea, (one was 3 and a half years old and the other one was 18 months old). We adopted the two girls together since they were sisters. That was a number of years ago as you can see. Now they can be my apron models. :)

This is my Mom's backyard, by the way.

Best wishes, everyone.

Quilt Show in PA

Hi, everyone!!

September 17 to the 20th is the quilt show in PA near Philadelphia. I can hardly wait. The first night I'll go visit my sister and then the next day we (my Mom and I and my sister) will go to the quilt show and get some wonderful ideas (I hope) and some wonderful fabric (I'm sure). I'm thinking about all the wonderful fabric we've gotten at quilt shows before - It's a pleasure to look at lovely fabric. Here is the link to the Quilt Show.

This is a picture I took a few years ago. I think it would make a great painting or quilt. Painting would be quicker... :)

Best wishes to all,
Linda
